 Y Drawing

In my practice, drawing is a conceptual tool, whether to produce something or to explain it. It maps movements, it measures, it reflects. Captured in diagrams and charts, new connections are created at every turn, languages overlap – the Y symbol is the origin of a family tree, a line becomes a road, then the road splits into branches. The drawings presented in the Y Drawing exhibition ask why (of course), as well as how, when, where, and what. They are journeys in which one follows the movement of the mind between present, past, and future, across physical and imagined territories. (excerpt from the text by James Tabbush)
