Collateral work

The experimental aspect of my collateral work is crucial in the development of my practice. It includes artworks made in different material, mood and mode of action. They are the sketch diagram made in two lines, the ‘book painting’, the storyboard and 3D models.

Le Palimpseste

Le palimpseste est la mémoire collective de l’atelier. Sur ce mur j’ai peins, graver et écrit, les enfants de l’atelier du mercredi ont eux aussi inscrit leurs marques ainsi que quelques invités, une oeuvre vivante en perpétuelle transformation, un partage de territoire.

The diagram on the street It can be fleeting, like the constellation of lights in the photo above. It is an arrangement, a diagram of light. Children are chasing after shapes as if they can be caught. This makes me think that every such diagram is of a temporary state, which is perhaps why the lines of the diagram (and perspective lines) lead into the past for me. When I take pictures in the street my aim is to record materials and to ‘frame’ new diagrams into a surface.

La Marelle

Il y a le diagramme dessiné et le plan que j’associe à l’architecture, celui facile à lire pour les constructeurs, comme prêt à l’emploi et sur lesquels vont se baser les ouvriers en bâtiment.

Audience (vidéo)

An insect is visiting a new ‘painting territory’. The AUDIENCE is following the insect journey along and across the surfaces, imagining looking, measuring, stepping back, and also feeling the surface with its tiny feet. Time is de-compressed, vision and habits are challenged .
